After the completion and construction of a building the final step in the power grid connection to homes and buildings.
This stage can be completed after the distribution substations have reduced the voltage to a safe level.
Electric wires run from local power lines to individual buildings (homes, apartments, businesses, etc.) and pass first through an electric meter that measures the amount of electricity used in your home. The electricity then passes through a service panel that contains electrical safety devices (circuit breakers and fuses) arranged and adjusted in the distribution-box.
This service panel contains all the wires that connect to various electrical equipment throughout the home.
Shows how each residence is safely connected to the electrical grid via a fuse box or circuit breaker.
The overhead power connection between the utility lines and the service entry is known as the service drop. It contains three wires: one neutral and two hot lines. In comparison to the neutral line, hot lines maintain a specific voltage (such as 230 V). Overhead service drops are classified into two types: mast and clevis. An underground service connection is referred to as service laterals.
